P.E.S.T.* (*political, economic, social, technological)

PEST is a form of micro-environmental research used in business to understand the context into which new products or services are placed. You are first required to find statistics and facts on which to base your project on. The predictions that you find should predict a world at least ten years in the future.

Second task is to paint a picture of your world. Find different methods to represent your future world: describe it through words, drawings, montage, film, etc.

The final task is to design something to meet the requirements and fulfill the desires of the people that inhabit your future world.

Task 1: Find your facts

  • If past trends continue, the population continue to grow, reaching 71 million by 2031...The proportion of people aged 65 and over is projected to increase from 16 percent in 2006 to 22 percent by 2031.
  • Artificial intelligence will develop during year 2020-2030 and by then the computers are at the same level as the human brain.
