Hello there!

My name is Sophie Penny Pierszalowski and I am a photographer, an educator, a former whale biologist, and the daughter of Alaskan commercial salmon fishermen. I live in Seattle with my two boys, two chickens, and partner.

I've always been passionate about photography. When I was a growing up, my dad and I would challenge each other to see who could compose the best photo from where we were standing. We'd play in the most random places - selling salmon at our local farmer's market, standing outside the post office waiting for my mom to mail a package, in the parking lot of a state park. The only rule was that you couldn't relocate to take the photo. This game would inspire long and hilarious conversations about photo composition - we tried hard to convince each other that we captured the best shot.

Through games like these, my dad taught me that everyone has their own beautiful way of seeing the world and that we all bring the world to life in different ways through a camera. I aim to capture your story in a way that reflects your own individuality, honors your identities, and brings your love story to life.
